PRESS RELEASESAtlanta, GA, USA September 10, 2008 -- Micron Optics, Inc., a leading provider of innovative optical components and laser-based equipment for sensing, laser imaging, and telecommunications, today announced the beta release of a powerful new measurement tool for Micron Optics sensing systems, ENLIGHTPro Sensing Analysis Software. ENLIGHTPro combines the useful features of traditional sensor software with the specific needs of the optical sensor system to create a single suite of software tools. For the system integrator, ENLIGHTPro makes it easy to optimize optical properties during the design and implementation phase of an optical sensor system installation. For system users, ENLIGHTPro allows easy monitoring of the installed sensing system, enabling the user to collect, display, save and analyze hundreds of fiber optic sensors simultaneously.
In just three steps, ENLIGHT Pro transforms optical parameters to sensor data presented in appropriate engineering units of strain, temperature, acceleration, etc. ENLIGHTPro's intuitive data display and additional graphing and data visualization features make it easy to use. Real time data is displayed in the context of a system photograph or schematic diagram to highlight the status of each sensor location. User-specified sensor alarm limits trigger alerts that can be sent to mobile phones or email addresses.
"Fiber optic sensors are important for applications where, for example, electromagnetic interference, corrosion, lightning, or size and weight restrictions make electronic gages impractical," says Tom Graver, Director of Micron Optics' Sensing Solutions business. "In the past few years, more capable instruments and improved sensor packages have made optical solutions very accessible to a wide range of applications, and now ENLIGHTPro software will make even more applications attractive."
According to Jeff Miller, Micron Optic's CEO, "ENLIGHTPro addresses a long standing request of our customers to make getting useful data from optical gages easier, and it also helps to speed the installation of sensor systems." Miller continues, "Because of its importance for our customers, we've decided to include it with every instrument. Even our existing sm125 and sm130 instrument users can get a free copy."
ENLIGHTPro is available for existing customers and with all new Micron Optics sensing instruments. For more information about ENLIGHTPro Sensing Analysis Software, please contact Micron Optics at sensesales@micronoptics.com
