PRESS RELEASESThe Micron Optics Fabry-Perot Tunable filter, the FFP-TF2, with a finesse value of 16,000 is now commercially available. This more than triples previously offered standard finesse values. These very high finesse filters can be used for applications requiring a filter response curve with a sharp top and very steep sides. Typical contrast values are at 80 dB. Certain applications which required two filters cascaded to achieve this high finesse will now only need one of these very high finesse filters.
Users can also select a widely tunable filter equipped with PM fiber. Micron Optics was the first company to introduce a one peak 340nm wide tuning range Fabry-Perot Filter. Now this same filter is also available in a PM fiber version.
Micron Optics has also made significant improvements in the bandwidth variation of the FFP-TF2. Bandwidth variation over a single order is now a tight +/-5% which is unheard of in widely tunable filter performance.
Micron Optics, a leading provider of tunable optical technologies, offers a comprehensive portfolio of components and instruments for Optical Sensing, Biotech and Telecom markets. Built upon its solid technology foundation, Micron Optics' sensing products span from optical sensors to fast and accurate optical instrumentation and to sensing system software. Since 1990, Micron Optics has been a privately held company based in Atlanta.
